Hans Verhagen is Senior Scientific Adviser in EFSA. He held management positions at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute in The Netherlands, and in EFSA. Hans worked in Unilever Research and at the Universities of Maastricht, Nijmegen, and Ulster. He was a member of EFSA’s NDA Panel from 2006 till 2015. Hans has published widely on subjects related to toxicology and nutrition. He holds a Master’s degree in chemistry from the University Nijmegen, and has a PhD in toxicology from the University of Maastricht. He is a board-certified toxicologist and a board-certified nutritionist. He is a visiting professor at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland.
