In 1971 Alina Afakoyevna Levitskaya finished secondary school with gold medal and entered the Philology Faculty of North Ossetian State University, which she graduated from with a degree in “The Russian language and literature” with honors as well.
In 1983 she graduated from the full-time postgraduate study of the Department of General Linguistics of the Philology Faculty of Leningrad State University with defense of a thesis.
Since 1981 she worked in North Ossetian University: as assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, and in 1993 she was elected as the Dean of the Faculty of the Russian Philology.
In 1997 she was appointed to the Deputy Minister of Basic and Professional Education of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania on questions of professional education and in 2002 – to the Minister of Basic and Professional Education of the Republic.
In 2005 she was appointed to the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania on questions of a comprehensive school, educational work and childhood social protection.
In 2006-2010 – Department Director of youth policy, child-rearing and child social protection, Department Director of State policy in the sphere of child upbringing, additional education and social protection of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
In June 2010 she took the lead of the Department of upbringing and socialization of children of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
Candidate of Philology.
In 2001 she was awarded the title “Honored Employee of Education of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania”, in 2006 she was awarded the title “Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation.” She is married and has two daughters and a son.
She was appointed to the Principal of North Caucasus Federal University by the Order of the Government of the Russian FederationNo. 771-рdated May 15, 2012.
