Food Engineer with PhD from Reading University. Researcher and former Director of Embrapa Food Technnology (Brazil), member of Embrapa Food Safety Committee, integrated Embrapa Labex in Europe (France). Chair of CIGR Section VI (Bioprocesses) and vice-chair of CIGR Food Safety Working Group. Brazilian Ambassador at GHI, Deputy at ISEKI and Director of Brazilian Society of Food Science and Technology. Member of Food Engineering Reviews Journal Editorial Board, published several papers in high impact journals, edited and authored books and book chapters and coordinated international projects. His main research areas are high pressure and thermal processes focusing on safety and quality.
